The Role of Auto Shut-Off in Reducing Drill Maintenance

Auto Drill Shutoff

Auto Shut-Off automatically stops the drill once it reaches the pre-set drill depth eliminating dry firing and the risk of rock drill damage.

We manufacture and design every E-Z Drill for ease of operation by both seasoned and inexperienced operators. When a drill is easy to operate, that means fewer repairs and decreased downtime for you and your customers.

Dry firing, for example, can cause a lot of damage to your dowel rock drill. Dry firing a drill causes the bit to hammer against the retainer, which eventually breaks the trunnions, damages the retainer and can mushroom the drill steel or bit collars, leading to increased downtime and maintenance expenses.

We’ve designed our 3-, 4-, and 5-gang units with Auto Shut-Off to prevent this. This feature automatically stops the drill once it reaches the pre-set drill depth, eliminating dry firing and the risk of rock drill damage. This feature alone greatly enhances the unit’s longevity.

Be sure to familiarize your customers with the Auto Shut-Off feature so they, too, understand the system’s benefits.
