Manhattan, KS is known as “The Little Apple”, but a runway project at the Manhattan airport was not so little. Pavers, Inc. out of Salina, KS recently built a section of runway that was 3,250’ long. There were three transverse joints that required 3/4″ x 20” bars to be drilled and epoxied. In the United Kingdom, just south of the M25 junction 18 at Rickmansworth, Herfordshire, the 260 meter-long Berry Lane Viaduct was in need of widening, in part, due to increase traffic loads in relation to the 2012 London Olympic Games.
